Michael’s story: undocumented student strives to serve his country
Michael Nazario was brought to the U.S. when he was seven. He lives in Arizona and after graduating from high school, he sought to enter the Marine Corps but has been unable to because of his undocumented status. But Nazario wouldn’t take “no” for an answer – he has been camped out since mid-September near the office of U.S. Senator John McCain in Phoenix, leading the “DREAM army” and pushing McCain and other elected officials to allow him to serve in the military.
